Promoting STEM Education in Africa and Beyond
STEM-Center Africa, founded in 2017, is a non-profit organization that aims to promote Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education in Africa and beyond. STEM education has been tipped as very crucial in meeting the every growing demands for jobs. By STEM encouraging creativity, innovation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills which are very relevant in this 21-st century, many countries and non-governmental agencies are highly recommending and providing resources for its adoption. As Kenya and Africa at large, we must keep in pace (compete) with these other countries for our economic growth and development. To compete with global education leaders and produce STEM workers, we strive to promote global competence for all learners in STEM fields, improve the ways STEM education is approached and funded properly.
Where we work
STEMCenter-Africa is based in Edenview Academy, Oyugis, Kenya. Edenview Academy is one of our schools which we are developing in order to be a model school, not only in offering STEM mentorship and opportunities to students around but will also act as a model to schools in Kenya! We want to lead by actions.
To inspire the next generation of mathematicians, scientists, and engineers and excite learners of all ages about the power and beauty of STEM education. We aim to promote creative and critical thinkers and problem-solvers who we believe will help spur the economic growth of not only African countries but the world at large.
To promote STEM education through innovation workshops, training, and seminars. We also plan to partner with like-minded organizations and schools to help promote STEM agenda to everyone in all corners of the world.

The COMPUTER LAB at Eden View Academy-Oyugis is complete!
We aim to:
Provide students in the Oyugis area and beyond with basics computer skills
Make learning (STEM) resources available by installing educational materials as well as providing internet so that students can browse and research for and by themselves
Through collaboration with a team of Professors and Ph.D. students, we aim to engage our students through the following STEM programs:
Programming (e.g. scratch)
Makerspaces [3-D designing and printing]
Robotics & robotics programming
And other activities that promote:
we can't wait to see these kids explore and venture into STEM fields. The future is bright!!!
Classrooms we plan to build
Implementing STEM education requires a very conducive environment for its success. Such environment must not only have knowledgeable personnel, but also resources to do so. That is why, as advocates of STEM education, we aim to establish a model school/classrooms for this purpose. Our projects include:
Construct 9 modern classrooms equipped with blackboards, whiteboards and furniture
Construct an office equipped with office furniture, and 2 computers for carrying out administrative duties.
Build a school library equipped with books and other materials where students can carry out research and exploration.
Increase the number of teachers (and train them), to ease the workload and allow for more efficient quality teaching.
Internet installation so that the children can enjoy online resources (e.g. learning tools like GeoGebra) and collaborations
Add more computers to cater for the daily growing number of pupils
Train the current teachers (PD) on how to use computers to teach (technology integration)
